Course Description:
Certified Medication Aide certification program is a 58 hour program, 26 hours of online (classroom) training and 32 hours clinical training preparing certified nurse aides (CNAs) to pass medications in long-term care, developmentally disabled, assisted living, or residential care facilities. This registration is for a 4-week online course, where clinicals are completed at the facility that sponsors you, and you are required to attend 2 live 1-hour sessions (January 16, 2026 and January 30, 2026 at 11am). Course starts January 11, 2026. Facility must be in good standing with the OSDH with no substandard citations for last two years and must agree to oversee clinical training in facility for registrant.

Admission Qualifications:
- Be able to read, write, and speak English
- Current listing in good standing on the Oklahoma Nurse Aide Registry as a long-term care (LTC) or developmentally disabled (DCA) aide.
- Minimum age of eighteen (18).
- Minimum of a high school or general equivalency diploma (GED).
- Experience as a CNA for at least six(6) months.
- Physical and mentally capable to safely perform the duties of a CMA.
- Complete 26 hours of online (classroom) training and 32 hours of clinical training.
- Facility must be in good standing with no substantiated care citations for the last 2 years to provide clinical training. (Care Providers Oklahoma will submit for verification)

- All paperwork must be completed and submitted to Care Providers Oklahoma at least 5 days prior to the start of the training.

Course structure:
Week 1: 13 hours online videos and live 1-hour session
Week 2: 16 hours clinical training
Week 3: 13 hours online videos and live 1-hour session
Week 4: 16 hours clinical training Final Medication Pass
Final Medication pass to be completed in your facility with the designated clinical instructor. This counts as your final skills test.
Final written test: You will schedule to take your written test with Care Providers Oklahoma OR another approved testing entity. (List of testing sites to be sent upon successful completion of the program).

CMA Manual:
The CMA Manual will be mailed the week before class starts. If registration is completed less than 4 days before class starts, the manual will be mailed the following week.
