Description

March 22, 23, 24, 29, 30 & 31, 2021 - 6-day training program for eligibility for employment as an Activity and/or Social Services Director. The Oklahoma State Department of Health requires an Activities Director be qualified by training, or experience, under one of the following: (1) An associate degree or a baccalaureate from an accredited university or college in art, music, physical education, recreational therapy, education or similar program. (2) A licensed occupational therapist or an occupational therapy assistant. (3) Successful completion of a Department approved training course. (4). One year experience in a recreational activity or long-term care environment, and is enrolled within 180 days of employment in a Department approved course for activities directors. A Social Services Director shall be qualified by training, or experience, under one of the following: (1) A baccalaureate, from an accredited college or university, in social work or in a human services field including, but not limited to, sociology, special education, rehabilitation, counseling or psychology. (2) Successful completion of the Department approved training course. (3) One year experience in social work or long term care environment, and is enrolled within 180 days of employment, in a course approved by the Department.

Care Providers Oklahoma has implemented safety precautions, including verbal completion of the COVID-19 screening questionnaire; temperature check (if temperature of 100.4 or higher is indicated entrance will not be permitted); mask required during class time (social distancing should be followed); disinfecting of meeting room nightly; and boxed lunches will be provided to minimize the risk of spread of the COVID-19 virus. Despite such precautions, visitors and attendees at in-person training should acknowledge that there is a risk of contracting COVID-19 infection and that Care Providers Oklahoma cannot prevent and is not responsible for such risk of infection to any person who chooses to attend in-person training. Care Providers Oklahoma requests that anyone who is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or has been exposed to a COVID-positive individual to stay home to avoid the risk of infection to others.

In-person training required a minimum enrollment, or will be rescheduled at a later date.
